Jan Sjöblom - Piano
Jan Sjöblom started playing with bands in his hometown, Sundsvall. Following education at The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm he was a piano teacher at Birkagården, Stockholm. Jan Sjöblom worked for 10 years at the Royal Academy of Music, teaching piano, composition and rhythmics. Jan Sjöblom has for many years been free-lancing within classical music and jazz and also been a permanent member with Lill-Arne Söderberg in the 50-ies and in Cabaret Nalen in the 60-ies. 1979-82 he was the pianist in Sveriges Jazzband, as again from 1993 until today.
Jan Sjöblom, who is a brilliant improvisor with a huge repertoire today performs in Ragna Fagelund Quartet, Le Band, Kenneth Arnström Quartet and a number of other Stockholm jazz groups.
