Kristin Malmborg plays in duo med Asuka Nakamura.


Kristin Malmborg is cellist och chamber mucisian, has worked with many of the large Swedish orchestras: The Royal Philharmonia Orchestra in Stockholm, The Swedish Chamber Orhestra in Örebro, Norrköping´s Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Norrland Opera.

Kristin Malmborg was a member of Verbier Festival Orchestra during summers of 2008 och 2009. Conductors were Valery Gergiev, Paavo Järvi, Manfred Honeck, Rafael Frübeck de Burgos, Charles Dutoit, Yuri Temirkanov, Kurt Masur and Gianandrea Noseda.

Kristin Malmborg has played in various chamber music groups and with these concerted in Sweden, Poland and England, at the National Gallery i London and the modern music festival “Warsaw Autumn” i Warszawa.
In 2004 she was awarded the stipend at Gotland Chamber Music Festival lead by Staffan Scheja.

Kristin Malmborg studied at Royal Music School in Stockholm for Ola Karlsson. She has also studied at Stuttgart Music School for Jean-Guihen Queyras and has an Artistic Stage-diploma at the Frederic Chopin Akademy in Warszaw where she studied for professor Kazimierz Michalik.

During 2005-2009 Kristin Malmborg was the stipendiate of Ingrid and Per Welins instrumental foundation for young mucisians and played on a Westerlund cello with a Ulf Johansson bow.

Kristin Malmborg now plays a cello made by Wojciech Topa in 2009 and a Marcin Siwiec bow.
