Kristin Malmborg - Cello & Timothy Phelan - Guitar

The Swedish cellist Kristin Malmborg and the Canedian guitarist Timothy Phelan bridges the North Atlantic with their instruments and artistry to illustrate original pieces for cello and guitar,and their own arrangements of known favorites from Schubert and Saint-Saëns to Piazzolla and The Beatles.

Kristin Malmborg got her cello education at The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and has a diploma from the Frederic Chopin Academy in Warszaw.
As a freelancing cellist she has played with many Swedish orchestras, like The Swedish Chamber Orchestra and The Royal Philharmonia in Stockholm.
Kristin Malmborg has played with several other orchestras in Sweden but also in Poland, Germany and the UK. During the last three years, she has performed with Anders Ekborg on his tour Stilla Jul.
Kristin Malmborg has also produced herself, lately the piece ”Fire and Passion” where she plays with pianist Henrik Berg.
Kristin Malmborg also burns for education, has started and runs Östermalm´s Celloacademy.

Timothy Phelan , Canedian guitarist, composer and organizer has performed as soloist and chamber musician in Canada, USA, Mexico, Cuba, Martinique, Europe and Scandinavia.
Timothy Phelan made at the age of 18 his first CBC-recording (Radio Canada) as a soloist with the Québec Symphony Orchestra, and has since then performed both as soloist and chamber musician on CBC TV and Radio.
Timothy Phelan has also played in the French Radio, The Caribbean Radio, The Cuban Radio/TV and Radio Mexico. He is often invited as a soloist, conductor teacher and lecturer on international guitar Festivals in Canada, USA, Mexico och Europe.
Timothy Phelan is also a dedicated teacher at both Brock University and Mohawk University.
