Pontus Carron was born in 1993 into i musical family in Stockholm, Sweden and began playing the piano at the age of 8. His main teachers through out the years has been Ingeborg Klose-Akesson, Ann-Sofi Klingberg and Stefan Bojsten. In the spring of 2018 he finished his diploma studies at the distinguished Edsberg Manor in Stockholm under guidance of prof. Mats Widlund and prof. Mats Zetterqvist and made his debut recital at Grünewald Hall in Konserthuset in Stockholm.
Pontus Carron has received a number of awards and prizes through out the years, in competitions such as Citta San Dona di Piave International Piano Competition and Swedish International Duo Competition 2017 together with cellist Kristina Winiarski, and awards from The Royal Swedish Academy of Music, The Grand Lodge of Sweden and Ekerö Cultural Award amongst others. He was also one of three finalists in Solistpriset 2020
Pontus Carron is also a sought-after chamber music pianist and has performed at several of the largest festivals in Sweden and including Båstad Chamber Music Festival, Sandviken Chamber Music Festival, Trelleborg Piano Festival and Pianorama.
Pontus Carron has performed through out Europe both as soloist and chamber musician The 2019/2020 season include concerts at the Philarmonie de Paris, Konserthuset in Stockholm and collaboration with the Quartetto di Cremona.
